Ideas & Insights About a Legendary Lady

Lady Lindy

It was 1932 and Amelia Earhart had become almost as famous as the adventurous Charles A. Lindbergh. The ambitious aviatrix wanted to duplicate his record breaking flight across the Atlantic and be the first woman to make the crossing solo!

Lindbergh took off from Newfoundland on 5/21/27 and landed his Spirit of St. Louis 33 ½ hours later in Paris.

Earhart took off from Newfoundland on 5/21/32 (exactly 5 years later). Despite mechanical problems, icy conditions and strong northerly winds, she landed her Lockheed Vega on a farm in Northern Ireland (much to the farmer’s surprise) 14 hours and 50 minutes later.
