On 5/11/12 we spoke to Ed T. Jones, now 85, who lives in Florida. He was a close friend and WWII buddy of Bob Wallack. Bob, now deceased, was a  U.S. Marine machine-gunner in Saipan. He was the person who, in Jones’ own words, “,,,ordered the safe in the Garapan, Saipan Municipal Building blown up by demolition experts. Inside the safe was a briefcase. The briefcase contained all the navigational gear Amelia Earhart and Fred Noonan had. The briefcase was ‘dry as a bone’.

The briefcase was turned over to a ranking Naval officer who ordered him not to disclose any information about the items found in the safe. Bob earned two purple hearts and individuals who don’t believe that this actually happened are in a roundabout way calling my friend a liar.”

Ed, we believe Bob Wallack and his theories about Amelia Earhart’s disappearance. We think the Japanese did take Amelia and Fred and the U.S. government conspired to cover it up. Amelia Earhart’s briefcase supposedly containing her passport, maps and personal papers disappeared after it was given to Wallack’s superiors.. Well, folks, what do you think?

I have that “short-snorter” with Bob Wallach’s as well as two othher Marines’ signatures on it and will get photos of both sides soon, plus do an explanation of exactly what a short-snorter is.

You might want to include the name of the officer who Wallach turned the briefcase over to, who later denied all knowledge of any Earhart on Saipan incidents. Martini had it documented!
Wallack and another Marine turned over the briefcase as well as a photo album believed to be Amelia’s or Fred’s that was found in a Japanese house… to Division of Intel officer, Wallace Green, who later in 1960 became Commandant of the US Marine Corps, and when then questioned by the press about rumors of AE/Noonan on Saipan, denied any knowledge of such. 1. Bob says:

Filo, thanks for supplying the officer’s name. Bob

    2. Bob says:

Filo, keep updating us. We appreciate your knowledge and expertise. Bob
